I’m not the big candle buyer in my family. I like to the think of myself as a mans man. You know the type. Beer drinking, belly scratching, body odor smelling, carrry a club mans man. In reality I just don’t come off that way. I hate the taste of beer, prefer soap that smells like cologne, and the only clubs I carry belong in a golf bag. Still though I don’t really notice if my wife has been burning the pumpkin spice candle or the brazilian cocoa candle. One thing my wife hates is the smell of vanilla. There’s just something about vanilla that makes her nauseas. Recently I was asked to exchange a particularly strong vanilla smelling candle on my way back from the store. Her only request was that it smell clean. Again being I guy I had no clue what to get and just picked up the first thing the clerk pointed to.
A month goes by and as I’m walking through the house one afternoon I couldn’t help but notice this awesome smell permeating my home. I asked and was told by my wife ”That’s the Earthy Embrace Beanpod candle you picked up for me a few months ago.” A couple weeks go by and again I’m hit with this smell. And again my wife says “Geez did you not even see what you picked out? That’s the Beanpod candle you asked about a the other day”
I figured it was about time I got the scoop on what the clerk sent me home with. As it so happens they are made of soy and according to their siteare :
- biodegradable
- made from homegrown soybeans
- burn at a low temperature
- burn very clean
- don’t release any pollutants into the air
Best part yet soy candles help support American Farmers. Now obviously I can’t take credit for making such a great environmentally friendly choice, but I can tell you that if you’re looking for a great green gift for the environmentally aware friend you could do worse than a Beanpod candle. Imagine a nice afternoon spent outside with family. Grill fired up, steaks piled high. A picnic table (covered with a Repellem table cloth of course). And a Beanpod candle sitting in the center helping to create the perfect day outside.
