All about the Repell-em garbage bags and tablecloths

nurseryLook at this adorable baby nursery! Everything is ready for the baby; the room is spotless, from the corners of the closet to the linens on the bed.

Nobody pictures anything in this room that might be harmful to the baby; it just can’t happen in here.

The fact is, however, that a baby’s room is the perfect breeding ground for bacteria and insects. Dirty diapers, cloth or disposable, harbor all kinds of scents, and the cloths we use to wipe up baby messes and other ’things’ we use in there are like a big insect buffet.

Nobody wants to see spiders, roaches, ants, etc. in the baby’s room or, heaven forbid, on the baby! That’s why many new parents are using Repell-em trash bags these days. There is absolutely nothing in a Repell-em trash bag that is in any way harmful to a baby - even if your baby chews on a Repell-em bag, it won’t harm him.

Using Repell-em bags in any room makes that room smell wonderful, and the nursery is no exception. It’s not that Repell-em aroma covers up the stinkies that inevitably overcome the baby smells of powder and lotion and sweet clean baby; it’s that when you put dirty diapers, wipies, etc, in a Repell-em bag, those odors just plain can’t get out of the Repell-em bag.

We want every room in our home to be clean and insect-free, but we ESPECIALLY want the baby’r room to be clean and insect-free.

Repell-em bags can do that for us. 100% natural ingredients, heavenly aroma, and soon you’ll be able to buy Repell-em bags in many designer colors!

Put a Repell-em trash bag in your nursery and it will never smell like a bathroom. Ever.

earthday2008Today is Earth Day 2008, and it’s important that we all remember that we only have one planet, and that if we don’t take care of it, we don’t really have any other options as to a planet on which to live.

Mercury and Venus are too hot, and all the others are too cold. I won’t even get into the atmosphere issue, or the fact that the big gas planets don’t have a solid surface yet.

Our planet, Earth, is our home, and it’s of vital importance that we keep our home clean and able to sustain life.

We here at Repell-em seek to make life on our planet better by making our product out of 100% natural ingredients, and making it 100% biodegradable. Our product does not add to the Earth’s pollution level; using our product helps make our planet cleaner, safer, and healthier for human habitation.

On Earth Day, we are reminded of what we really ought to be thinking and doing all the other days of the year, too: living our lives in ways that help, and sustain, and nurture our planet and each other. Our own personal environments are made better by using Repell-em products, and if everyone on Earth worked to make his/her own personal environment better, the whole planet would be better.

It’s like those sayings our grandmothers used to tell us: If everyone on Earth swept his own doorstep, the whole world would be clean.

It’s true, too. And using Repell-em products is a step in the right direction.

I’ll send a free Repell-em trash bag to the first commenter who tells us all the actual mythological name of our planet. Earth, after all, is merely a nickname.

campsiteSpring is here, and already dedicated campers are out in the woods, sleeping in tents, cooking over campfires, and enjoying life in the outdoors.

Even campers have trash, and Mother Nature doesn’t take kindly to having garbage strewn all over her grassy carpets. This is exactly what happens, however, when garbage is set out in regular clear or white trash bags. Animals can smell the goodies inside from miles away, and they don’t mind being called litterbugs, because they will tear those regular trash bags to pieces and scatter the contents everywhere.

Today’s wise campers will take Repell-em products with them to the campsite. Repell-em tent mats and liners will keep insects and animals out of the tent. Repell-em tablecloths will keep insects and animals away from your picnic table. Strips of Repell-em bags around your wrist or ankle will keep insects away from you when you walk or hike. And when you bag your trash in a Repell-em trash bag, it will not only keep the bugs away from your campsite, it will also repel most animals as well.

The natural ingredients in Repell-em products are repellent to bugs and animals, but the combination of these ingredients smells very pleasant to humans. Many people say that Repell-em products smell like expensive scented candles!

Remember the Repell-em Contest we held a few months ago?  Repell-em is probably the ONLY company to ever give a free sample to every single person who entered a contest, and we’re going to hold another contest very, very soon.

In the meantime, emails are pouring in from our contest entrants who have received their sample and used it, or intend to use it very soon.  So far, everyone who has used his/her sample has nothing but praise for the product.  We are very glad, although we are not very surprised, either.  I, for example, have used Repell-em products for many months now and I have nothing but praise for the product!  Therefore, it comes as no surprise to me that the people who received a sample and used it are also praising the product.

That reminds me. . . I need to place another order for some more Repell-em trash bags.  I use them exclusively now, and I’ve given so many of them away to friends (I am the crazy lady who gives people a trash bag!) that I’m running low.  Good thing they’re all still on sale!

I would like to request - and I’m remembering to say “please” - that everyone who receives a sample of a Repell-em product email me and let me know how you used it, and the results.  Please?  <—–good manners

I’d appreciate that very much.  Thank you.  <——-another display of good manners

I’m looking forward to hearing from each of our contest entrants about how you liked and used your sample.

Please send your remarks - and if you can’t praise the product, we want to know about that, too - to me at this address:  Jane@onebyonemedia.com

Thank you all so very much!

One more thing:  if you entered our contest and don’t receive your sample by this weekend, let me know.

This morning, I filled a Repell-em trash bag with dry cat food, and put it against a wall in my kitchen. So far, the cats haven’t even noticed it.

I got this idea from a lady on the A to Z Teacher Forum, who asked if she could store dog food in a Repell-em bag and have it be safe from discovery by her dogs. I wasn’t sure, so that’s why I’m experimenting once again.

GlendaLL, who also posts on A to Z, had entered the Repell-em Contest a few months ago and told all the teachers on the forum that she had received her Repell-em sample for entering. Other teachers asked questions about the product, one of which was about whether or not Repell-em products worked with horses. I gave some Repell-em bags to a friend who has horses, so we’ll all know the answer to that question in about a week.

Then TeacherGroupie asked about storing Kibbles in a Repell-em bag, and that is what led to my current experiment. She also wanted to know if the dogs would still eat the kibbles after they’d been stored in the Repell-em bag, and I’ll be finding out about that, too.

The cat food I am using is Sam’s Club, and it has a rather strong odor. Inside the Repell-em bag, however, we can’t smell it at all, and apparently, neither can the cats.

I’ll let you all know how this experiment goes.

Thank you to the teachers on the A to Z Forum for their extremely good questions.

My mother belongs to a missionary society, and these ladies regularly pack boxes full of necessities and maybe a few luxuries to mail to the members of their church who are currently living overseas, most of them in very hot countries and with very few amenities to make things pleasant.

Mom was telling me about a letter they’d received from one of their missionaries, and in this letter, a lady was describing their never-ending battle with scavenging animals and insects. She told the church ladies that she and her family were always covered with bug bites, always itching, always shaking the sheets to be rid of the spiders and heaven-knows-what else. There is always a bug in everybody’s shoe, always an animal sniffing around the trash, and it was to the point that it was dangerous to let the children play outside. She described the stray dogs and coyotes, the raccoons and other wild and semi-wild and even fairly tame animals who made hash and hay of any trash or garbage. This lady lamented that even though churches sent really nice, expensive trash bags all the time, none of them could stand up to the insects and hungry animals of this area of the planet.

So, I gave Mom one of my boxes of Repell-em trash bags to pack in the missionary box, and I asked the church ladies to ask the missionaries if they would mind reporting back to me on whether or not the Repell-em product did the trick and kept the bugs and stray animals away from the bagged garbage.

When I hear, I’ll let you all know!

One more thank-you to everyone who entered the Repell-em contest; those of you who responded in time with your mailing information should be getting your sample very soon.

There will be another Repell-em contest in the spring, so keep watching this blog for details!

And hey, if you plan on sending a box of whatever to missionaries, friends, etc. who are living in a hot, insect-y country, you might consider putting some Repell-em products in there. I’m betting that Repell-em magic will make a world of difference to someone who is living a world away, trying to make the world a better place.

lunareclipseThe most fantastic and complete lunar eclipse in years was last night, and even though it was cold, I put on my warm coat and went out to the deck and lay down right on the wooden floor to watch it. There won’t be another eclipse quite like it for several years, and I didn’t want to miss this one!

The last time we lay down on our deck to watch some celestial splendor, we were nearly eaten alive by the ants.

Not this time, however.

This time, there was a strip of Repell-em trash bag hanging here and there under the deck, and there was not an ant in sight last night. Not only that, but there was not a single insect of ANY kind bothering us last night! AND, even though we’d set our trash out, and believe me, those bags were FULL of rotting culinary delights that any raccoon, possum, or stray dog would ordinarily have chewed through both me and my husband to get to, not a single animal showed up for the buffet.

So, you see: Repell-em products not only live up to every promise they make about REPELLING insects and animals, they also allow you and your family to experience some truly educational and enlightening and awe-inspiring things, such as a complete and total lunar eclipse on a clear, cold night, without being annoyed by anything except each other.

Was I worried that such powerful products, products that keep insects and animals at bay, might be hazardous to the health of my family? No, I wasn’t, not one tiny, little bit. Repell-em products are completely natural and harmless. They smell great to humans.

trophyThe Repell-em Contest is over, and here are our winners!

First Prize - $75.00 in Repell-em products - goes to Melissa of Pennsylvania. Melissa impressed us with her poetry:

Insects, animals, pests, and more, Will do whatever they can to get in my door.

I try and I try to keep them away, But it seems they are here forever to stay.

They make me squirm, itch, and twitch; I wish I could chase them away with no hitch.

I found this cool site while surfing one day; Repell-em products will make them go away.

So I ordered a case and got ’em sent to my home; No more bugs and animals around my house shall roam!

No more ants at my picnic, no more raccoons in the trash; Repell-em products work - for not much cash.

Now I am happy as can be. Thanks, Repellem, for saving me!

Thank you, Melissa, for entering the Repell-em Contest. Enjoy your winnings!

Second Prize - $50.00 in Repell-em products - goes to Doug, the Boy Scout Leader. Doug told us, in his comment, that “I think Repell-em products are cool because as a Boy Scout leader who participates in most of the camping, I like the campsite to be as comfortable as possible to everyone. The Scouts can have greater satisfaction in their outdoor experience with fewer bugs around. A more satisfying experience means the longer the young adults will participate in the program. The longer they participate, the more character building occurs. So Repell-em can help build character in youth and shape the future of this country!”

Thank you, Doug, for entering the Repell-em Contest. We hope you enjoy your winnings, too!

Third Prize - $25.00 in Repell-em products - goes to Patricia, who never goes camping without Repell-em! Here is what she had to say: “We don’t go camping without Repell-em bags. They are perfect for after-meal clean-up, and we don’t have to worry about the raccoons at night. I feel better knowing that MY little critters are safe from toxic fumes. My daughters know that we are helping the environment by choosing biodegradable bags. So, everyone is happy.”

Thank you, Patricia. We’re glad you entered our contest, and we hope you enjoy your winnings, too.

If you entered the Repell-em Contest and haven’t received an email from Jane about your free sample, please send an email to Jane@onebyonemedia TODAY! We don’t want to leave anyone who entered our contest out!

Also, the three winners have been selected and notified; if you are one of them and haven’t replied, please do so IMMEDIATELY. Names will be posted tomorrow!

skunkRepell-em products are excellent for use, no matter where you might live. Right here in southern Indiana, as I type, we’re experiencing some really bad infestations of skunks in our basements and crawl-spaces. Whenever it rains a lot, the skunks are washed out of their homes and they tend to take up residence in ours.

If they just smelled better, it might not be so bad!

Skunks are aggressive and determined, and they tend to have large families. Once the skunks have established themselves in your house, it’s almost impossible to get them out. Unless, of course, you have some Repell-em bags.

Just take a Repell-em trash bag and hang it from the ceiling of the cellar or crawlspace; the skunks - and any raccoons, possums, or neighbor’s dogs that might have had some ideas about moving in - will actually RUN out the door, or whatever opening they might have made for themselves.

It’s a lot easier than the standard removal remedies such as flooding the crawlspace, tearing a big hole in the foundation, or filling your basement with dangerous poisons.

There’s a reason our products are called Repell-em, folks. They REPEL almost all insects, spiders, and most four-legged critters.

Plus, they’re completely biodegradable. Who says it’s not easy being green?

The Repell-em Contest ended last Friday, and by now every entrant who included his/her email address should have received an email from Jane asking for a mailing address. We need your mailing address really soon, too; if you could get it to us by tomorrow night, that would be awesome.

The winners will be announced on Wednesday, Feb. 20.

Why do we ask for your mailing address? It’s so we can send everyone who entered our contest a free sample of a Repell-em product! That’s right; you don’t have to actually WIN to win. Of course, if you are one of the three winners, you’ll be getting a really BIG box in the mail, and soon, too!

In the meantime, isn’t it nice to know that there is a product out there that not only keeps almost every kind of pest (except your mother-in-law) at bay, and doesn’t hurt the environment whatsoever?

You’re on your own with the mother-in-law; Repell-em products don’t repel humans. Humans LIKE the way our products smell, in fact.

Repell-em products are completely harmless to humans, and don’t hurt the environment. It’s a win-win combination!

(If you entered our contest and didn’t get your email, please let us know! Jane@onebyonemedia  will take care of it for you!)
