All about the Repell-em garbage bags and tablecloths

I like to keep a bowl of fresh fruit on my kitchen counter, and today is no exception.  I’ve got some red plums, some bananas, some Granny Smith apples, a few lemons, and one big orange.  There were more oranges earlier today but my husband likes to grab something out of the bowl almost every time he walks by, and my kids were here tonight.  So, the bowl is a little low on fruit tonight, but there’s still some in there!

There are also some fruit flies hovering over the bowl, and when I saw them I couldn’t believe my eyes!  I NEVER have fruit flies because I use Repell-em trash bags!

Then I remembered.  I gathered up the trash this morning and set it out on the deck.  Then, the kids came down and we all got in the car and went to town for dinner, and I still haven’t put a new Repell-em bag in the wastebasket!

There’s one there now, though.  I’ll go check out the fruit flies in a few minutes, and I can tell you right now that they’ll all be gone.

Oh, and that bag of garbage sitting out on my deck?  Nothing has touched it yet, and the raccoons and possums are out now, yes indeed they are.

That bag will still be intact in the morning.  AND, it’s full of chicken skin and leftover pizza!

It’s so humid here now that my glasses fog up when I step outside, and I’m momentarily blinded!  The cats are lying flat to the ground and the flowers are visibly drooping.  Really, the only thing that seems to be flourishing are the ants.

But not in my house or on my deck!  That’s because I have a Repell-em trash bag in the kitchen trash can, and a piece of Repell-em tablecloth hanging from the side of the deck.

My kitchen trash can is a big drawer, and when that drawer is closed, that’s a perfect place for ants.  I’d want to live there if I were an ant!  A closed drawer with a container full of garbage. . . think about it!

But the trash bag in that trash can is a Repell-em bag, and there will be NO ANTS or bugs of any kind in that drawer, or anywhere near it.  Not even in this sticky humid summer weather.  No way.

And that little piece of Repell-em hanging from the deck, flapping in the wind, sending that fragrance all across my deck, is keeping ALL insects - and all the animals, for that matter - AWAY from my deck.

And that’s the way I like it.  Thank you, Repell-em!  You do exactly what you claim to do, in every way.

Oh, and by the way?  No cockroaches, either.  NONE!

I’m getting some emails from people who want to know EXACTLY what the 100% natural ingredients in Repell-em products are, so here is this post again, with all the details!

Repell-em products repel almost all insects and animals, so they must be made out of some pretty poisonous ingredients, right?

Oh, so WRONG!

Repell-em products are 100% safe; you can eat off them, you can sleep on them, you can sit on them, you can harbor them inside your home knowing they are not only perfectly safe but also knowing that they are KEEPING you safe from unwanted animals, stinky smells, and insects and all the disgusting diseases and itchiness they can cause.

A house with Repell-em products in it is a cleaner, better-smelling, safer house.

And about those ingredients that make Repell-em products the extremely successful products that they are? Let’s check them out, just to make sure they’re all right for you to keep near your children.

peppermint“Peppermint.” Well, they make candy out of peppermint, so it must be entirely edible. Plus, peppermint smells really, really nice. So far, so good.

citronella

“Citronella.” We already know this keeps insects away because it’s so commonly used in outdoor candles. Completely harmless to humans. Well, we use it in Repell-em products, too. We’re still good.

rosemary

“Rosemary.” Makes me remember the Simon and Garfunkle song, “Scarborough Fair.” Rosemary is a very edible herb. No danger yet.

cloves

“Cloves.” Mmm, I love to smell cloves. I put cloves in pumpkin pie, and persimmon pudding, and sweet-and-sour cocktail meatballs. In other words, cloves are edible, too.

geranium

“Geranium.” My mother always has huge pots of geraniums on either side of her front door in the summertime. They’re beautiful. They’re also perfectly safe; people even make tea out of them. Safe, safe, safe.

lemon

“Lemon.” Lemons are citrus fruits and people love to squeeze the juice and make lemonade. Everybody loves lemonade. Lemonade, lemon pie, lemon pudding. . . . you get the picture. Another absolutely safe ingredient.

apple

“Apple.” Unless you’re Adam or Eve, apples aren’t going to cause you any harm. In fact, apples will keep the doctor away! Apples are healthy; one of the healthiest fruits out there. If apples are one of the Repell-em ingredients, then Repell-em must surely be a safe product.

All of these very natural, very safe ingredients, plus a little mineral oil, are what Repell-em products are made of. There is nothing remotely toxic, in any way, about any of them. It’s the combination that makes the bags repellent to insects and animals, even while the combined aroma of the bags is VERY pleasant to human noses.

Once the weather gets warm, there is always a half-filled bag of potting soil on my porch.  After a while, the animals and insects discover it and make it their home away from home; or worse, they make it their main home!

It’s bad enough, what the cats do when they find the bag of soil.  And when I need to use some of the potting soil, and put my hands in it, and come up with. . . . well, it’s no fun.

One summer, little burrowing bees found the bag of potting soil and THAT was an experience I don’t want to live through any time soon.

This summer, I’m keeping the leftover potting soil in a Repell-em trash bag.  No insects will come near it, no animals will, well, you know, in it.  Repell-em bags are thick and strong, so the soil won’t eat the bag away and then scatter all over the place.

Repell-em bags are PERFECT for storing summer gardening things, such as potting soil or fertilizer.  Plus, they’re pretty and red and look nice sitting behind the porch swing!

I hate cleaning the litter box.  I have three cats, and it seems like one or more of them is ALWAYS in there.

Oh, and guess who gets to clean it out?  Yup, that’s right.  Me.

It’s not as bad as it used to be, though.  I used to dump the stinky clumps in a little wastebasket lined with four inferior trash bags, and then I would remove all four inferior trash bags, tie them off, and put it on the deck with the rest of the trash.

Almost every time, the weight of the clumps would break through those flimsy bags and dump all over my feet.  It was so nasty.  Plus, animals from all over the place could smell what was inside those inferior bags from miles away, apparently, and they would come running.  Why the animals tore open the bags and scattered the contents is beyond me, and I don’t think I even WANT to know, but talk about a disgusting mess, scattered all over the deck and lawn!

Now, I dump the clumps in a red Repell-em trash bags.  Repell-em bags are so strong, I only need one to support the weight.  And when I put the Repell-em bag out on the deck, nothing bothers it.  Nothing whatsoever.  What’s inside can’t be smelled at all!  Not even by people!

Thank you, Repell-em.  And my cats thank you, too.  I tend to clean the litterbox more often when it’s not so difficult.

It gets really humid in southern Indiana in the summertime.  Sometimes the sheets and towels feel damp even when they’re fresh out of the dryer and still warm!  After they’ve been folded, and have been in the linen closet for a while, they feel even damper.  This, as you might expect, tends to attract insects.

Not this summer, though!  Even though the worst of the mugginess hasn’t really begun yet, I’m ready.

This afternoon, I put a Repell-em trash bag against the back wall of all three shelves in my linen closet.  Not only will it make my sheets and towels smell wonderful, it will keep those disgusting summer bugs that feed on humidity-soaked linens out of my closet!

How good does a Repell-em trash bag smell?  If I tell you that I also put one in my lingerie drawer, would that answer your question?

Actually, it’s after midnight, and there are four red Repell-em trash bags sitting out on my deck because there just wasn’t room for them in the kitchen.

With any other kind of trash bag, I would wake up in a few hours to find our trash strewn all over the yard, and all the raccoons, possums, and insects in the world feasting on our garbage.  I consider any trash bag that isn’t a Repell-em trash bag to be an inferior trash bag, by the way.

No inferior trash bags in my house, ever again!

We are a Repell-em family now.  And I love being able to set my trash out on my deck the night before we take it eight miles down the road to the dump.

Oh, and ever since I started using Repell-em products, exclusively, people come into my kitchen and ask me what that wonderful smell is; they think it’s a scented candle, or popourri.  That’s how good Repell-em products smell to people.  My cats, on the other hand, won’t come near them, but that’s exactly how it should be!

All my life, whenever I packed a picnic basket, by the time it was time to eat, the ants had already found our food.

We usually just flicked them off and ate it anyway, but it would have been nice to NOT have something alive looking back at us before we bit into something.

There are all kinds of products designed to repel ants, of course, but most of them are made of substances that one would definitely NOT want touching food!  Besides being dangerous, they also smell really strong and bad.

Enter Repell-em, with its harmless 100% natural ingredients, its 100% biodegradable material, and its good smell, and you’ve got a picnic basket liner that not only keeps your food dry; it also keeps your food absolutely insect-free!  Throw a Repell-em tablecloth in your basket, and you’ve guaranteed yourselves a picnic lunch that no animal or insect will bother in any way!  Even the flying insects will stay away.

And after you’ve eaten, you can put all your trash in the Repell-em bag and throw it in the back of your car without fear that it will attract bugs or animals!

A Repell-em trash bag or two should be a vital part of any good picnic basket.

Why, YES, that IS a red trash bag underneath my silverware tray.  Thank you so much for noticing!

Why is it there?  I put it there to keep away the mice and insects that like to scurry about in there during the summer.  Oh, and during the other seasons, too.

Does a trash bag keep mice and bugs out of that drawer?  Yes, indeed it does.  It’s not just ANY trash bag, you understand.  It’s a Repell-em trash bag, made of all-natural ingredients, and bugs and mice can’t endure the smell.

What’s that?  You think the drawer smells wonderful?  So do I.  Repell-em products smell really good to people; it’s just animals and bugs that hate the smell.

Does it work, you ask?  It sure does.

I am probably Repell-em’s biggest fan.  Everything I’ve done with Repell-em has been successful!

I used to get weevils in the summertime, and I HATED that!  Opening a new bag of flour or cornmeal only to discover those nasty burrowing weevils practically made me SCREAM!

I used to scatter bay leaves in my pantry, but it made such a mess.  Also, the effect didn’t last very long, although it did work for a little while.

Now, I just put a few pieces of folded Repell-em bag on a few of the shelves in my pantry, set the cans right on top, shut the door, and forget about the weevils!

Roy Rogers and Dale Evans used to set the cannisters of flour and corn meal, etc, out on the patio and let the weevils burrow up and fly away, and then use the flour!

I’m sure that didn’t hurt them or their children, but I just don’t think I could do that.  I’d much rather prevent the bugs from moving into my staples in the first place!

Thank you, Repell-em!
