This extra-hot summer weather doesn’t keep outdoor-lovers indoors, and the excess of insects that are swarming everywhere because of that same humidity and heat can’t keep outdoor-lovers inside, either!

We eat outside a lot in the summer.  This used to be both wonderful and terrible; the wonderful part was being together and eating lots of great BBQ and corn on the cob, and playing volleyball with butter still dripping down our elbows.  The terrible part was dealing with the swarms and hordes of insects, that loved it when we ate out, too, and for all the same reasons.

The little girls next door to me have a treehouse, but they weren’t using it this summer.  I asked their mother why, and she said it had wasps in it!

We waited a few days just to make sure, and then my neighbor’s husband climbed into the treehouse and took down the wasps’ former home.

The girls’ mother festooned the treehouse with Repell-em, and the little girls have been playing up there ever since.

P.S.  I believe that Repell-em products are one of the grandest inventions of the century.  They haven’t failed me yet.  I wasn’t sure they’d repel WASPS, for heaven’s sake, but they did!
