Open Windows, No Screens, No Bugs, Either!

Here in southern Indiana, we’ve been under a Heat Advisory almost every day, and lately the high-nineties temps have been accompanied by severe humidity alerts as well.
There is no air conditioning in the house we’re painting, so all the windows are open and fans are running. The problem with opening windows, especially when there are no screens, is that the insects consider that an open invitation to enter.
This summer’s severe heat and humidity have been good news for bugs. In the evenings, we can hear huge swarms buzzing and humming and making whatever insect noises insects make. If we go outside for even a few minutes, we’re covered by masses of mosquitoes; the bites are incredible!
When we first started painting, we were getting bugs in the paint on the walls. I really don’t want to move into a house with insects embedded in the paint, so we didn’t know what to do at first.
Then I thought, if Ecosmart Plastics & Repellem products do such a good job under normal circumstances, would they also work for this not-quite-so-normal circumstance?
So I brought some Repellem trash bags to the new house and put a strip of one across each window. That was Saturday. Today is Monday, and there are no bugs in the house now.
I’m serious. Wide open, screenless windows, wet paint, and no bugs.
I recommend this procedure highly!

I post a picture of my Christmas tree here, every year. That’s because it’s an EcosmartPlastics Repellem tree!
