More than spring bulbs are waking up and presenting themselves for our approval; the bugs are making themselves known, too! I’m sure you’ve already noticed that bugs and spiders are awake and trying desperately to get where the easy food is: our homes.

It’s extra important in the springtime to be sure we don’t leave food out where it will only look like a large free buffet to ants, gnats, flies, roaches, and other lovely creatures we don’t invite into our houses; they gatecrash! We’re buried in snow, here in southern Indiana, and my next-door neighbor finally managed to break a path to my door.  I figured that she was going to ask to borrow milk, or bread, since she has two small daughters and hasn’t been able to get out of her driveway for a week now.  But no, she didn’t need food.
