All about the Repell-em garbage bags and tablecloths

Archive for the 'No mice in your house' Category

I’ve only got four Repell-em trash bags left, so I need to order some more TONIGHT!  Oh, I’m not desperate yet, and there’s an almost-full box of Hefty bags under the sink, but I don’t use any other brand but Repell-em since I discovered how good they are.  I use the lesser brands of bags to line the cat’s litter box, but they’re not good enough for my family, in the kitchen, especially.

In my kitchen, I use only Repell-em bags.  They’re thick, strong, and they repel insects and animals.  Their fragrance, so repellent to bugs and raccoons, is like fresh potpourri to people.  When I walk into my kitchen in the morning and smell that fragrance, I know that Repell-em has been working all night long, keeping my family safe from vermin and insects.  This is a good feeling, folks.

So off I go, to order more Repell-em bags.  I especially like the 33-gallon garbage bags.  I use them in my kitchen wastebasket, and I love it that the bags are so big, I can also stuff more in them even after I remove the bag from the wastebasket.  I buy the kitchen-sized Repell-em bags for other rooms in the house, but in my kitchen, there’s always something else to put in the trash after I lift the bag out, so I like the bigger bags in there.

Try Repell-em trash bags.  You’ll love them, too.

A small child’s room is a room we especially want to keep as clean as possible.  A small child’s room is also one of the hardest rooms to KEEP clean, because small children are just naturally messy.  They don’t mean to be; it’s just part of exploring this amazing new world they discover anew every moment.  We want them to be this way.  We wouldn’t change it even if we could.

What we CAN do, however, is try to keep our children’s rooms as clean, under the clutter, as we can.  Wherever there is clutter, there is a tendency for insects to move in and take up housekeeping.  When we pick up a little applesauce-smeared book and something scurries away from underneath it, we’re horrified, because this is a little child’s room and we don’t want ANYTHING with lots of legs scurrying around in it!

A child’s wastebasket is another place we often neglect when it comes to housekeeping.  In fact, the wastebasket is the repository for many things we remove from the floor and dispose of.  Insects and mice love wastebaskets, and a child’s wastebasket is even more full of tasty things than the kitchen wastebasket!

How can you keep your child’s room clean and safe from insects and rodents?  It’s easy.  Keep the child’s room as clutter-free as you can, and put Repell-em trash bags in the wastebasket and in the closet!

Repell-em products are made of 100% natural ingredients and are completely harmless.  Even if your child puts the Repell-em bag in his mouth and sucks on it, as little kids are prone to do, the Repell-em bag won’t harm the child in the least.  There is nothing in the Repell-em bag that could hurt your child’s digestive system, OR cause harm to the skin!  100% natural ingredients, and 100% biodegradable, too.

Line the baby’s wastebasket with a Repell-em bag, and put a Repell-em bag in the closet, too, and there will be no worry about insects or mice in your precious child’s room.

I’m getting some emails from people who want to know EXACTLY what the 100% natural ingredients in Repell-em products are, so here is this post again, with all the details!

Repell-em products repel almost all insects and animals, so they must be made out of some pretty poisonous ingredients, right?

Oh, so WRONG!

Repell-em products are 100% safe; you can eat off them, you can sleep on them, you can sit on them, you can harbor them inside your home knowing they are not only perfectly safe but also knowing that they are KEEPING you safe from unwanted animals, stinky smells, and insects and all the disgusting diseases and itchiness they can cause.

A house with Repell-em products in it is a cleaner, better-smelling, safer house.

And about those ingredients that make Repell-em products the extremely successful products that they are? Let’s check them out, just to make sure they’re all right for you to keep near your children.

peppermint“Peppermint.” Well, they make candy out of peppermint, so it must be entirely edible. Plus, peppermint smells really, really nice. So far, so good.

citronella

“Citronella.” We already know this keeps insects away because it’s so commonly used in outdoor candles. Completely harmless to humans. Well, we use it in Repell-em products, too. We’re still good.

rosemary

“Rosemary.” Makes me remember the Simon and Garfunkle song, “Scarborough Fair.” Rosemary is a very edible herb. No danger yet.

cloves

“Cloves.” Mmm, I love to smell cloves. I put cloves in pumpkin pie, and persimmon pudding, and sweet-and-sour cocktail meatballs. In other words, cloves are edible, too.

geranium

“Geranium.” My mother always has huge pots of geraniums on either side of her front door in the summertime. They’re beautiful. They’re also perfectly safe; people even make tea out of them. Safe, safe, safe.

lemon

“Lemon.” Lemons are citrus fruits and people love to squeeze the juice and make lemonade. Everybody loves lemonade. Lemonade, lemon pie, lemon pudding. . . . you get the picture. Another absolutely safe ingredient.

apple

“Apple.” Unless you’re Adam or Eve, apples aren’t going to cause you any harm. In fact, apples will keep the doctor away! Apples are healthy; one of the healthiest fruits out there. If apples are one of the Repell-em ingredients, then Repell-em must surely be a safe product.

All of these very natural, very safe ingredients, plus a little mineral oil, are what Repell-em products are made of. There is nothing remotely toxic, in any way, about any of them. It’s the combination that makes the bags repellent to insects and animals, even while the combined aroma of the bags is VERY pleasant to human noses.

Spring is here, and it’s time to hang your heavy winter coats in the closet and forget about them until next winter!

Summer is also the season for moths and other insects that can damage your heavy woolens badly.  There are many ways to keep your winter clothing safe from insects, but most of these methods are expensive, smelly, and often downright dangerous!

Why not just slip a Repell-em trash bag over your winter coat before you hang it up for the summer?  Repell-em trash bags are fantastic suit-bags, for example; I’ve heard from many readers who cover their prom dresses with a Repell-em bag before hanging them away.

It’s also very effective to put a Repell-em bag over the top of folded sweaters before you store the box in the back of the closet or under the bed.

Clothing is expensive, and we certainly don’t want our hard-earned money devoured by moths, silverfish, and other cloth-loving little bugs.

With Repell-em in your closet, that just won’t EVER HAPPEN!

I took my last package of Repell-em trash bags to the college today and gave one to each of my students.  I’d been bragging on the merits of Repell-em so much, and had already given a few Repell-em bags to students who were having problems (skunks under the house, etc.) and after I told my students yesterday that Repell-em could get rid of the ants in a kitchen, ALL of my students wanted to try it.

Jeepers.  That’s a lot of trash bags.  But that’s all right, because I want EVERYBODY to see first-hand just how well this product works.

Most of the time, when we read or hear about a new product’s merits, we have to discount at least half of it.  I was skeptical when I first learned about Repell-em products, too.

Now, however, I’ve used Repell-em products and I’m thoroughly convinced of their superiority over every other brand of trash bag in any store, anywhere.

I used to have no “brand loyalties” when it came to trash bags.  Hefty?  Glad?  Store brand?  I’d buy whatever was on sale, because they were all pretty much alike.

But Repell-em is different.  Repell-em really does repel insects and animals.  With Repell-em, you never have to worry about stray dogs getting into your trash and spreading it all over the street.  With Repell-em, you don’t have to worry about possums, or raccoons, or skunks.  With Repell-em, there will be no bees or ants or cockroaches.  With Repell-em, there will be no mice.

And this holds true whether you’re using your Repell-em bags as trash bags, or if you’re using them for any of the hundreds of other uses they have, INSIDE your house!  Just check this blog’s archives if you want some helpful hints!

I will be very interested to learn how my students will put their Repell-em bag to use.  Some will, naturally, just use it as a trash bag, but since southern Indiana is pretty much flooded out of existence right now, I’m guessing that several students will use their Repell-em bag to get rid of wild animals that are taking refuge in crawl-spaces and attics.

I’ll keep you posted.

Want to buy some Repell-em products?  They’re still on sale!  And remember, they’re made of 100% natural ingredients, and are completely biodegradable.

Not only are Repell-em products 100% biodegradable, made of 100% natural ingredients, made in America, and absolutely guaranteed to repel insects and most animals, Repell-em products also come in many different forms.

You can buy Repell-em trash bags in two sizes. You can buy Repell-em tent mats and tent liners and tablecloths. Repell-em also makes dog poop bags, and if you’ve ever tried to clean up after your dog with baggies or old shopping bags and had it burst in your hand or smell up the elevator on your way back home, you’ll really appreciate these.

If there is a product you need that isn’t listed, you can custom-order it! Repell-em takes requests. We can even put your own logo on either or both sides of our Eco-Smart products. You can even choose among several different colors for your custom order.

If you buy in bulk, Repell-em will give you an even better deal.

Remember, Repell-em products do far more than what’s on the box: you can cut them up and place them anywhere insects or animals are a pest. Put them in your crawlspace to keep out skunks. Tie a little piece of Repell-em around your wrist and walk in the woods without being bothered by mosquitoes or flies. Fold a piece of Repell-em and put it under your silverwear tray or under a sofa or chair cushion. Hang a piece of Repell-em in your closet to keep the moths away.

With Repell-em bags, you can set your trash outside the night before, so you don’t have to get up at dawn to catch the garbage truck!

Whenever possible, I like to be green, and whenever possible, I like to buy products that were made in the United States.

With Repell-em products, I can do this!

Repell-em products are 100% biodegradable.  Many other similar products make this claim, but the truth is, most other products are NOT really biodegradable.  Repell-em products, however, are.

Repell-em products are biodegradable, made of all-natural ingredients, genuinely repellent to animals and insects, and every bit of them, including the packaging, is made right here in the United States.

I like to think that while I am making less work for myself, keeping insects away from my family, and discouraging wild animals from prowling around my home, that I am also helping, not hurting, the environment, and encouraging an American business that has its facilities strictly in the States, not overseas.

Oh, and that Repell-em trash bag, full to the brim of smelly goodness, is still outside on my deck, untouched and pristine.

102_1982This is my sofa, and the strip of red under that middle cushion is a folded Repell-em trash bag.

This couch is covered with little tiny holes and scratches, because until two weeks ago, it was one of the favorite haunts of my three spoiled-rotten cats.

I was getting desperate; NOTHING could keep those cats off the couch!

It was desperation that drove me to try an experiment with one of my Repell-em trash bags. I folded it and placed it underneath that middle cushion, crossed my fingers and toes, and waited.

I’m still waiting. It’s been two weeks, and the cats have not jumped up on the couch yet.

Usually, I poke the Repell-em bag completely underneath the cushion and it can’t be seen. I let it show here so I could get a good picture and you’d have a better idea of what I did.

You could do it, too. If your pets are ruining your furniture, just put a folded Repell-em bag under the cushions. Don’t worry about harming your upholstery; remember, Repell-em products are completely natural and totally harmless.

Oh, and best of all? I found eighty cents when I lifted the center cushion.

Something unforseen happened to the Repell-em trash bag that’s been sitting out on my deck for well over a week. My husband didn’t realize that I was conducting an experiment, and after possums tore into the Glad and Hefty bags and scattered garbage and trash all over the deck late last night, he swept it all up and put it, plus the Repell-em bag, in the back of his truck and took it all to the dump.

I can tell you that even after all this time, the Repell-em bag was still untouched, but I have no picture to show you because the Repell-em bag is now at the county dump, where I have no doubts whatsoever that it’s still intact, and still repelling animals who consider the dump a four-star restaurant.

I have never tried a new product that I liked as much as I like Repell-em products. Not only does everything Repell-em work beautifully when used as directed -trash bags as trash bags, eg - but they also have countless other uses as well! Sure, you can put your garbage in them, but you can also hang a Repell-em bag in your closet to keep out moths and mice; you can put a folded Repell-em bag under your silverware tray to keep out ants and roaches, and you can store suits and evening dresses in Repell-em bags to keep them fresh and moth-free.

Repell-em bags keep away spiders and bees and mosquitoes. The Repell-em tablecloths are perfect for a completely insect-free outdoor meal, and so safe, you can still eat any food that might drop off your fork onto the table!

Tomorrow, I’ll bag up the leftover beef stew, cornbread, and empty out all those pizza boxes, and throw the corncobs in a new Repell-em bag and begin experimenting again. I bought some new brands of trash bags at Wal-Mart tonight, to add to the Hefty and Glad bags. I have a feeling that the Repell-em bags are going to out-perform them ALL!

102_1954The Sam’s Club trash bag, which had been between the red-handled Hefty bag and the yellow-handled Glad bag, was pushed off the deck and scattered almost before I could turn around. (You can see a little bit of the scattered trash on the lawn.) The Glad bag’s contents must have smelled pretty good even through the plastic, because this trash bag was jumped and gnawed through pretty quickly, too. The Hefty bag has a few small holes near the bottom, but I think its proximity to the Repell-em trash bag is buying it a little more time than it would ordinarily have had.

Two of the cats were still there, nibbling the crumbs from the holes in the bags.

Please notice that the red Repell-em bag is still absolutely untouched, even though this same bag has been sitting outside, on my deck, in the midst of other brands of trash bags which have been pretty much demolished several times over, and their contents greedily eaten.

Those of you, including me, who wonder just how long the Repell-em magic will last: after a full week - that’s seven days and nights - this Repell-em bag is still repelling just fine. Notice, too, that the snow is finally gone. I plan to sweep the crumbs off my deck eventually, but I wanted you all to see what was left after the Sam’s Club trash bag was sideswiped.

To remind you: this Repell-em trash bag is full of smelly food leftovers, soaked-through-with-smelly-food-juice-by-now newspapers and cardboard Diet Coke boxes, eggshells, lemon rinds, and whatnot. After a week, that stuff must be really rank, but I can’t tell you that for sure because I can’t smell it. I can, however, still smell the pleasant odor of the Repell-em bag. Remember, Repell-em products are made of all-natural ingredients, and there is nothing in them that can cause harm to a living thing. They don’t hurt or poison the insects and animals; Repell-em products just don’t smell good to them. Plus, most animals can’t see the color of the Repell-em bags very well. It’s a fantastic combination!

Tomorrow, I’ll put some newly-filled trash bags out there with the Repell-em bag.
