It’s almost time to carve your jack o’lantern for Halloween! Usually, October isn’t all that cold, so the pumpkins start to crawl with bugs fore a few days have gone by. This, of course, makes the pumpkins look awful and add an ick factor to your home that doesn’t have anything to do with a holiday.

EcoSmart Plastics and Repellem has a better idea.

Carve your pumpkin as usual, but scrape out a little more of the pulp that you ordinarily would. Cut out the face – make it scary!

Take a Repellem trash bag and line the inside of your carved pumpkin with it. Then, put a battery-powered fake candle in the center – a big wide one looks best. DO NOT use a real candle with a plastic trash bag inside the pumpkin!

When you put this red-lined jack o’lantern on the porch or front step and turn on the battery-powered light inside it, step back and admire: The pumpkin’s face will glow and bring out the red of the lining, and the look is unmistakably HALLOWEEN! Plus, your pumpkin will not become infested with insects at all; the bugs won’t even know it’s there, and this means your pumpkin will stay fresh longer, too.

Those glowing red eyes will bring some oohs and aahs from your little trick-or-treaters, too.

I’ve been doing my jack o’lanterns this way for four years now, and each year look creepier With Halloween pumpkins, that’s exactly the effect I want!

(Remember: no candles! Battery-powered lights only!)

This extra-hot summer weather doesn’t keep outdoor-lovers indoors, and the excess of insects that are swarming everywhere because of that same humidity and heat can’t keep outdoor-lovers inside, either!

Just because there are bugs everywhere, that doesn’t mean we have to put up with them. Just a few EcoSmart Plastics Repellem and Eco-smartbag products here and there in your house and car will keep almost every single insect away.

Camping? Be sure to bring your Repellem tent mat. There won’t be a single bug in your tent. Put a Repellem trash bag in the bottom of your sleeping bag, and there won’t be any bugs in there, either. In fact, put a Repellem trash bag by your campsite and a Repellem tablecloth on your camp table, and you can leave the fly swatter at home.

With EcoSmart Repellem products, you can also leave the dangerous bug sprays at home, too.  Better yet?  Leave those things at the store.  With Repellem, you won’t need anything else.

Not only will EcoSmart Plastics Repellem trash bags and other products prevent animals from sensing and therefore tearing up and making a mess of your garbage, your Repellem bags will also keep the bugs away.

We had a cookout on the 4th, and everyone commented about the complete and total lack of insects buzzing around us out on the deck. Well, it was because of the trash bags that accumulated as the cookout progressed. With EcoSmart Plastics and Repellem products, you won’t ever have to use dangerous insect repellents that contain poisons; your Repellem tablecloth and the bags of cookout trash will take care of the bug problem.

There are so many reasons why I use EcoSmart Repellem products in my home, but one of them is that I can use them safely around my children, and around food, as Repellem products contain only natural ingredients that are 100% harmless to both. And while the cats and dog stay away when Repellem products are in use, the products won’t harm my pets, either.

Everybody is outdoors a lot in summer, and it’s so nice to be able to BE outdoors and not have to worry about batting away the insects all the time.

This is been the wettest, rainiest, stormiest spring in living memory, and with the moisture come the bugs.  Bugs love wet.  Bugs love humidity.Just mowing the grass, in the bright sunshine, the gnats, mosquitoes, ticks, chiggers, and you-name-it come out in droves, sensing fresh blood.  You can spray your body with expensive chemicals and the bugs will just gnaw around it.However, there’s a way to spend some outdoor time without risking dangerous smelly chemicals.  It’s easy. Just tie a strip of EcoSmart Plastics and Repellem around your ankle, and the bugs will give you a wide berth.    Tie a few strips around sticks and place them in your garden, and your tomatoes will be bug-free, too.On your deck, tie some Repellem strips here and there on the posts, and you can sit on your swing or cook out without constantly batting the bugs away.  There will BE no bugs.EcoSmart Plastics and Repellem products are wonderful in any season, but in the hot, humid summer weather you’ll be even more grateful that you’ve got ‘em!They’re absolutely 100% safe to use on your tiny children, too.

Labor Day weekend is the perfect time to have an end-of-the-summer cookout!  And while it might be very true that this time of year is very hot and humid in many areas (here, for example) and that insects love to crawl, fly, and hover around anything they perceive as “edible” at any time and especially so in weather conditions like these, with an EcoSmartPlastics and Repellem trash bag and tablecloth at your picnic, you’ll have nothing whatsoever to worry about.

Try it yourself.  Remember, Ants, gnats, flies, and bees can smell your fried chicken and potato salad from miles away, and they tend to pass the word along to all of their friends, and what does that mean? It means you’re sharing your chocolate cake and lemonade with bugs.

Of course, if you’re using a Repell-em tablecloth on your outdoor table, you won’t have to worry about bugs at all. Even if they smell your food, they won’t come near it because the tablecloth REPELS them.

Don’t worry about any “dangerous” pesticides or poisons in the tablecloth, either. That tablecloth is so safe, you could lay your chicken leg right on it and spoon your baked beans from it and you’d be just fine. Your mom would smack your hand for being rude, but you’d deserve it. The point is, you wouldn’t suffer ANY effects from it! Other than what your mom doles out, that is.

Repell-em products are all-natural, remember? There is nothing in them that could hurt a human in any way. They smell GOOD to humans, too.

It’s just the animal kingdom that finds Repell-em products repulsive. That’s a GOOD thing!

Not only are EcoSmartPlastics and Repellem products extremely effective at keeping almost any bug or animal away, the products are also sturdy and strong, and can be used and re-used many times.  For example, we’re cooking out tomorrow, and the bright red Repellem tablecloth we’ll be using has already been used twice for our summer cookouts.  In other words, not only is the plastic super strong, the repellant that’s in it is also super strong, and lasts for weeks.

Bon appetite, y’all.  And a bug-free Labor Day cookout to you all.

DSCF2129Look closely at my tomato garden and you will see that each tomato cage has been wound with a strip of Repell-em, and between the scent, the ends waving in the breeze, and the large Repell-em piece acting as a scarecrow there on the end, I really believe we’re going to get some tomatoes for ourselves this year.

I don’t have to worry about “insect repellent” touching my food and contaminating it in any way, because Repell-em products are made of 100% natural ingredients and are completely harmless.

The cats were used to playing in that railroad flat all winter, and it’s really funny to watch them go running toward it and then stop short, look around with a bewildered expression, and then turn and walk away.  The deer have been using that garden patch as a salad bar all winter, but now that there is actual food in it, they behave as though they can’t even see or smell it.  That’s because they can’t.  The EcoSmartPlastics Repellem strips have rendered my tomatoes unplottable!

Here’s a closer shot of a few tomato cages, so you can see in greater detail what I’ve done with the strips of Repell-em. It’s nothing fancy, obviously, but so far it’s working like a charm!

There are so many uses for your Repell-em products. So far, every experiment I’ve done with them has been successful!

All the climate scientists are reminding us that this summer’s batch of insects is the worst in a long, long time, but EcoSmartPlastics Repellem can ensure that your cookouts and picnics are bug-free, too.  And if you go for a pleasant summer walk, make it even more pleasant by tying a strip of Repellem around your ankle and wrist.  You’ll stroll absolutely unmolested by mosquitoes, gnats, chiggers, and any other summer blood-sucking pest.

EcoSmart Repellem products are almost like magic; they work so well, and are completely harmless.  Amazing!

. . . and grilling time means outdoors time.  This extra-humid and extra-pollen-ish summer has more than its share of happy and excited bugs, but when we had a cookout this past weekend, we weren’t bothered a bit by insects – not a single, tiny bit.

We didn’t use any dangerous bug sprays or smelly candles, either.  It’s not good to use poisons around food, pets, or children, and a typical cookout has all three.  All we did was put an Ecosmartplastics’ Repellem tablecloth on both round deck tables, and a couple of Repellem trash bags in the wastebaskets.  We’d need tablecloths and trash bags anyway; why not use the best: products that not only serve their usual purpose, but also keep away almost every kind of insect imaginable?

Our cooking could have been plagued with insects, attracted by the sweat, blood, and smells of the cooking food, but it wasn’t.  We didn’t have to sit at the table eating with one hand and swatting bugs away with the other.

We didn’t have to sit and put up with the overwhelming odor of anti-bug skin sprays or citronella candles, either.  All we smelled was food.

Ecosmartplastics Repellem and Eco-Smartbag products are versatile and so very, very useful.  Why put up with insects at your picnic when you can keep them away with a tablecloth?  Why put up with mice and roaches in your kitchen trash can when you can keep them away with a trash bag?

I have used Ecosmartplastics Repellem and Eco-Smartbag products ever since I first heard of them several years ago.  They are far superior to any other kind of plastic product I’ve ever used, and they are the ONLY ones that keep away insects and wild animals.   100% biodegradable and made of 100% natural products, Repellem tablecloths and trash bags will turn your buggy summers into insect-free vacations.

The prediction for the summer of 2010 is formidable:  more pollen than most people can remember, more humidity than we’ve seen in years, and more bugs.  A lot more bugs.

Ecosmartplastics Repellem can’t do anything about the pollen or the humidity, but if you use these fantastic products, you certainly won’t have to worry about or deal with the bugs!

Already, in the evenings, there’s a haze of those disgusting little biting midges, but on my deck, there are none.  My deck is like an island of purity on these spring nights, which are, in southern Indiana, already muggy and buzzy.  The neighborhood cats are starting to hang out on our big deck swing, so they don’t have to nap amidst the bugs!

How did I do this?  What complicated procedure did I use to make my deck so pleasant and insect-free?  Oh, it was difficult, all right.  I tied two Ecosmartplastics Repellem trash bags around the sidebars of the swing.

That’s all.  No poisons, no sprays, no traps.  Just two red Repellem trash bags tied around the swing.  I’ll change them every two weeks or so, all summer long.  With Ecosmartplastics Repellem, I don’t have to worry about the cats chewing on them – animals don’t like to get too near a Repellem products – or toddlers chewing on them – Repellem products are 100% natural, recyclable, and GREEN, even though they’re red.  :)

Harmless to all living things, Repellem simply repels.  It doesn’t kill.

My deck will be bug-free all summer.  Yours can be, too.  Order your Ecosmartplastics Repellem bags here.

It’s spring, and the weather has been just simply beautiful in southern Indiana these past few days!  We got out the lawn chairs, hosed them off, and set them out on the deck to dry.  We had no sooner turned our backs to go back inside than we heard a buzzing sound.  Turning around, we saw that the bees had discovered our water-soaked chairs.

We have kids and pets, so we don’t use dangerous chemicals or sprays.  However, since we discovered Ecosmartplastics Repellem, we don’t need to.

Tim went outside and tied a strip of Ecosmartplastics Repellem trash bag to the back legs of each lawn chair.

Within minutes, the bees were gone.  Oh, they were still alive, and busy fertilizing flowers and fruit trees and going about their beesiness, but they were no longer on our deck keeping us from sitting in our own chairs.

Ecosmartplastics Repellem & Eco-Smartbag products are the most effective and earth-friendly products you can use, for they keep all insects and small animals away, but their 100% natural ingredients and 100% recyclability make them environmentally safe.

Don’t worry about a small child or pet chewing on the Repellem strips, either; they’re completely harmless.

You can find Ecosmartplastics Repellem & Eco-Smartbag products at these fine stores and websites.

For the past few summers, I’ve planted my tomatoes and peppers upside down and hung them from the deckposts.  I’m going to do it again this summer.

However, this summer, I’m not going to plant the tomatoes in those big bulky buckets.  Nor am I going to shell out the big bucks for one of those upside-down tomato kits.  I looked at one of those carefully in the store just today, and you know what it is?  It’s a big heavy plastic bag.

Well, I have a box of big heavy plastic bags, and mine are not only big and heavy; they’re 100% insect and animal-proof, completely biodegradable, and made of 100% natural ingredients as well!

I’m going to fill an Ecosmartplastics Repellem bag about half-full of potting soil in a month or so, and I’m going to tie it in a big knot.  I’m going to hang the dirt-filled bag over the plant hangar on the deckpost.  I’m going to make a little hole in the bottom of the bag and I’m going to plant a cherry tomato plant in the bag.  It will hang upside down on the deck, just outside the kitchen doors.  All summer long, whenever I need tomatoes for salad or just to snack on, all I have to do is open the kitchen door, take about three steps, and reach out my hand.  Not walk across the yard and bend down,  no no, just walk out the door a few steps and reach OUT.

I can eat my tomatoes right off the vine, without washing them, if I want to, and it will be safe because EcosmarPlastics and Repellem bags will keep the usual garden bugs, worms, and hungry animals away.  There will be no pesticides or poisons on my tomatoes.  Each little tomato will be perfect, because it will be untouched by insect or animal.  No turtles will take a bite.  No possums.  No raccoons.  No deer.

I can’t wait until it’s time!  I’m going to do this with all kinds of tomatoes and peppers, just like last summer, only I’m going to put ALL the plants in lovely red Ecosmartplastics Repellem bags.  My deck will look like Christmas and be like a fresh veggie buffet.

Think how nice this would be for people with small children!  Instead of snacking on candy or other sweets, or salty foods, just send the children out on the deck to help themselves to fresh, wholesome, nutritious vegetables.  Picking these themselves will become a family tradition!
