Christmas is over, and most of us have, by now, packed away our holiday decorations.  I hope you’ve made sure that insects and mice can’t get to your fragile, sentimental ornaments, etc.  We all cherish our holiday things, and if we open a box next year to discover that the mice and bugs have made a feast out of them, it would be devastating!  However, preventing this from happening is a lot easier than you might think.

I make sure that won’t happen by placing most of my precious holiday articles in Repellem trash bags before placing them in their boxes.  If something is too big for a trash bag, such as a large tree, I wad up several Repellem bags and put them in the box with the large item.

Things that lie packed away for a whole year stand a good chance of “invasion,” but a simple thing like packing them away with a Repellem bag can make all the difference in the world.

In fact, your whole house will be cleaner - and greener - if you tuck a little Repellem here and there, in closets, drawers, etc.  And when the house is cleaner, it’s also safer.

My community has been notified of several infestations, but in my house, we haven’t noticed any bedbugs, at least not yet. I have no scientific conclusion to draw, but I do know this: There are EcoSmartPlastics and Repellem bags in all of my closets and cabinets. For several years now, I’ve used a Repellem tablecloth as a Christmas tree skirt.  I have three cats, you see, and all those dangling ornaments were a temptation too awesome to pass by.

With that Repellem tree skirt, though, the cats ignore the tree completely.  The 100% natural ingredients in Repellem products create an aura that makes animals unable to sense the presence of objects that would normally be fodder for devouring and messing up or scattering all over the place.

Not now.  My Repellem tree skirt keeps my Christmas tree safe and intact.

My next-door neighbor was visiting earlier this week.  She has two small children and another on the way, and was really anxious to get her decorations and tree up before she had the baby.  With a new puppy and two cats living in her house, though, she didn’t know what to do.  “What if the animals or toddlers knock my tree down while I’m in the hospital?”  she asked me.

I gave her one of my Repellem tablecloths, and now her tree is up and she says the dogs & cats haven’t come near it.  The children are still interested, but they, at least, can understand what “Get away from that tree!” means!

I also told her what our “neighbor on the other side” has been doing for the past couple of Christmases; she wrapped an empty box in bright red Repellem, stuck a big white bow on it,  and put it under her tree with the rest of the gifts.  That smallish Repellem-wrapped box is sufficient to keep all the rest of her gifts AND her tree safe from her curious dogs and small children.
