EcoSmartPlastics’ Repellem & Eco-smartbag products are among the most versatile products I’ve ever used!  Not only do these products do everything they’re supposed to do; they do much more!  It seems as if every week I discover more things these products can do, and do WELL!

How many trash bags have you ever bought that will not only be receptables for your garbage and trash but will also keep insects and animals away from your garbage and trash?  Or be made of 100% recyclable, biodegradable, natural ingredients?  Or keep your winter woolens safe from moths?  Or keep the deer and bugs away from your garden?

How many outdoor tablecloths have you ever bought that will also keep the mosquitoes and gnats away from your picnic?

How many such products have you used in the past that caused you to worry and hesitate to use in or near a child or a child’s room for fear of poison, since small children chew on pretty much everything?  With Ecosmartplastics Repellem products, you won’t have these worries.  100% natural, harmless ingredients.

Ecosmartplastics Repellem products don’t even harm the insects and animals it repels; they just, well, REPEL them.

Even the thickest, finest, and most expensive trash bags can not be set outside the night BEFORE the trash truck comes; dogs can smell that feast from miles around.  However, with Ecosmartplastics’ Repellem & Eco-smartbag products, you CAN set your trash outside on the curb the night before because animals simply can not detect the presence of even the stinkiest garbage if it’s inside a sealed Repellem bag.  How nice not to have to rise at dawn to run after the garbage truck with your bags of trash!!

There are more uses than these for Ecosmartplastics’ Repellem & Eco-smartbag products; check this blog each month for updates!  In the meantime, check our archives for all kinds of ways these products can be used.

These two Ecosmartplastics Repellem trash bags are full of turkey carcasses. Both bags have back on my deck since Thursday night.

It is now Sunday, late afternoon, and as you can see, neither bag has been so much as touched by the millions of raccoons and possums and neighbor dogs that frequent my deck. In the past, we couldn’t set a bag of garbage out there for five minutes before its contents were scattered across the yard by wild animals dumpster-diving for the good, smelly stuff that was in there.

Here in southern Indiana, the weather has been in the fifties and sixties these past few days, and I’m pretty sure that the remainders of those two big turkeys didn’t smell all that good to humans after a few hours out there. However, animal and insect “noses” are different, and the usual onslaught of animal and insect hordes just did not appear.

That black cat? She’s been featured on this blog before, totally ignoring the contents of Ecosmartplastics Repellem garbage bags, and even napping on top of them without giving them so much as a swat.

Two trash bags full of Thanksgiving garbage, including the remains of two 19-pound turkeys. No animal even seemed to realize such a treat was sitting out there in full reach. Animals did not see the bags - the unique red color saw to that. Animals did not smell the bags - the unique 100% natural ingredients that make up the bags saw to that. No animals even seem to realize the bags were there, well within plain sight and easy dragging.

That’s because Ecosmart Repellem trash bags can not be seen or smelled by animals; therefore, animals leave them alone. Ecosmartplastics Repellem products are good for anything indoors or out - you’ll have no problems with insects or animals, including mice, moths, ants, spiders (I know spiders aren’t insects, but they react to Repellem like insects!) roaches, gnats, or pretty much anything that would hang, uninvited, in or out of your home.

Just look at those two red Ecosmartplastics Repellem trash bags. Since Thursday night, they’ve been sitting there. NOTHING has bothered them in the least. Nothing has even tried.  Millie, the black cat, isn’t even interested.

Proof positive! Ecosmartplastics Repellem products rock!

Summer might be be here officially yet, but it’s here, all the same.  Just ask the insects!

It’s time to get out a couple of EcoSmart Repellem trash bags, cut them up, and put the pieces in your cabinets and cupboards.    This will keep away the ants, weevils, roaches, and any other bug that might otherwise think your food storage places would be good dwelling places.

It’s also time to throw an EcoSmart Repellem bag in each clothes closet or clothing storage bureau or bag in your home.  Those folded winter woolens in the bin under your bed would be a perfect hangout for insects this summer.  Don’t let that happen to your family’s good clothing!

All you have to do is put an EcoSmart Repellem product of some kind in each storage bin, and you’re protected from all insects!

It even keeps moths away from your family’s woolens!

Many parents securely fasten a strip of Repellem plastic UNDERNEATH their child’s mattress to make sure insects don’t crawl into the crib and onto the child in the night.  HOWEVER, IF YOU DO THIS, BE SURE IT’S A SMALL STRIP OF REPELLEM, NOT A COMPLETE BAG, AND MAKE SURE THE STRIP IS FASTENED SECURELY.  DO NOT PUT IT ON TOP OF THE CHILD’S MATTRESS, UNDER THE SHEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND BE SURE YOU USE A VERY SMALL STRIP!  EcoSmart Repellem products will not harm your child if touched or tasted, but it is vitally important to keep all plastic bags away from our children for suffocation reasons.

If you use EcoSmart Repellem products throughout your home this summer, you’re assured that no bugs will want to make YOUR home THEIR home.

I’ve done this for a couple of years now, and we haven’t seen a single ant, moth, weevil, or roach inside the house yet.  And I live WAY out in the country, in bugland!

One of our readers has asked me about Repell-em’s ability to really keep moths and weevils out of her home.  She’s tired of wasting money by having to throw away infested dog food, flour, etc., and wants to know if Repell-em will really help.  Here is my reply to her:

Dear Charlene,

I think my weevils came in with the big 25-pound sack of flour I bought at Sam’s Club.  They spread to everything: the cornmeal, the cat food, the rice, pretty much everything that was edible and dry.  I tried everything; for a while, bay leaves seemed to work, but they lost their “spark” after a while and the bugs came back.

When I started writing for Repell-em, the product was so new to me, I wasn’t really sure what all it would do besides keep large animals away from your trash, so I did all kinds of experiments myself, right here in my own house.

What I discovered was, that Repell-em was like magic.

Every month, I cut a Repell-em trash bag into squares and place them here and there in my pantry, and INSIDE the bags or cannisters (I tape it to the underside of the cannister lid) and I have not had a single weevil, moth, or any other kind of horrible bug (they’re all horrible if they’re in your house, in my opinion) since.  Repell-em is 100% natural, so it won’t harm anything or anyone, and it won’t poison or taint your food.  It doesn’t kill, even the bugs, but it drives them away!  It really does work.  I just got our winter coats out for the season, and they’re as perfect as if I’d stored them at the dry cleaner’s, and it’s because I hung each coat inside a Repell-em trash bag.  We’ve got Repell-em in the backs of all our closets - it keeps the moths away, and also the mice!

But those pesky weevils were so icky and nasty and EXPENSIVE (think of the wasted foods!) that I decided to see if Repell-em would work on them, and it DID.

I recommend it.  Not because I work for them, because I don’t.  I just write for them.  I recommend Repell-em because I use it myself and it works. If I didn’t believe in the product, I couldn’t write for it.  I believe in it because I use it, every day.  And now, I wouldn’t use any other brand.  Ever.

Thank you so very much for inquiring.

Sincerely,
–Jane

I’m beginning to pack away some of our summer clothing, and guess what I’m putting it in before I throw it in the back of the guest room closet?

Repell-em trash bags, of course.

When I unpacked our heavy coats the other day to see if they’d  see us through another winter, and they smelled wonderful and were absolutely and 100% free of moths or ANY unwelcome guest, I realized then and there that I would never again pack away an article of clothing, a blanket, or ANYTHING made of fabric, without making sure there was some Repell-em in there somewhere with it.

So, I got out my last box of Repell-em trash bags - time to order some more! - and started putting away our shorts and all of the sleeveless shirts.  I put the swimsuits in a piece of Repell-em tablecloth, as we might need those once more, but everything went into those fantastic extra-large Repell-em trash bags.  Mmm, I love the way they smell!  They have a fragrance that reminds me of expensive candles, or potpourri.  It’s no wonder, either, since some of their 100% natural ingredients are the same thing that goes into expensive candles and potpourri.

Anyway, I know that when I unpack our summer things next spring, everything will be in perfect condition.  I can trust Repell-em for that.

And so can you.

Last spring, I packed all of our fall and winter coats and jackets away in large Repell-em trash bags.  I just slipped a big Repell-em bag over the hanger and tied it in a knot at the bottom.

Last night, I unpacked a light autumn jacket for my husband, and instead of being greeted by the usual faintly musty odor of packed-away wool, I was instead greeted by the aroma of lemons and peppermint, because even after several months of hanging in the closet, that Repell-em bag had retained its pleasant fragrance which meant, of course, that it had also retained its potency in keep away all manner of insects.

Speaking of which, there was no trace of moths anywhere to be found on that jacket.  I am confident that next month when I unpack the heavy winter coats, they will smell good and will be completely untouched by moths, too.

Repell-em products have so many uses!  With Repell-em, a trash bag is much more than just a trash bag, and a tablecloth has many more uses than just being spread on a tabletop.

I don’t know how I managed without Repell-em.  Seriously, I don’t.

School has already started for many children, and will start after Labor Day for a few more.  New clothes, new pencils, new lunchboxes, and new shoes are being unwrapped in many households right now.

When you put your child’s new shoes in his/her closet, remember to put a new Repell-em trash bag or tablecloth in the back or bottom of the closet, too.  Brown recluse spiders love to nest in the bottoms of closets, and particularly inside shoes.   If a child, or you, puts a foot inside a shoe and disturbs a brown recluse, it will bite, and the bite of a brown recluse spider is horrible, and can take YEARS to heal.

Simply avoid this possibility by using Repell-em products as preventative medicine in your closets.  Repell-em products smell so good to humans; they smell like expensive candles or sachets, in fact.  Having that Repell-em bag or tablecloth in your closet will not only keep the spiders away; it will also protect your expensive clothing from moths and other insects.

Put some Repell-em in your closet.  You’ll be glad you did.

I hadn’t used my suitcase since last May.  When I brought it upstairs from its storage place in the garage, I had to kill a few spiders that had taken up residence in there before I could use it.

When I put it back on the garage shelf after returning home, I did some serious thinking.  You have to understand that I HATE BUGS!!  ALL BUGS.  Yes, I know spiders aren’t bugs, but they’re close enough.

Then I thought, DOH.  Repell-em!!!

So before I stored my suitcase away, last May, I put a Repell-em trash bag in it.

I’m going to San Francisco tomorrow, to the BlogHer conference.  I needed my suitcase again.  I wondered what I’d find when I opened it.

It was actually no surprise that not a single insect of any kind was in that suitcase.  In fact, the inside of my suitcase has never smelled so good!

Mmmm.  Some people put a sachet in their luggage.  From now on, I’m just going to put a Repell-em trash bag in mine.  The good smell lasts longer, and it repels bugs.  Whatta deal!

Ever since I saw a Discovery Channel show about brown recluse spiders in shoes, I’ve been a little paranoid about shaking each shoe, HARD, and making absolutely sure there are no residents in it, before I put it on. If you’d seen that woman’s foot, so would you.

That might explain why, when I saw that little brown spider come crawling out of my closet tonight, I let out a bit of a yelp and went running to the kitchen for my Repell-em bags.

What? Why is keeping my shoes in a Repell-em bag any odder than keeping shoes in one of those tower shoe racks that holds a hundred pairs, right at eye-level?

A little advice, shoe horses: shake your shoes before you put them on. Spiders love to live inside shoes, and your shoe rack is a free-rent condo to a spider. And his family and friends.

MY shoes, however, are safe now. No spider will come near them. Repell-em products really do live up to their name: they REPEL pretty much everything you DON’T want near you or anything you own.

Plus, they smell great. It’s like having a sachet in my closet. I love it.

Thanks again, Repell-em. I use you all over my house and yard, and so far, you’ve been PERFECT.

It gets really humid in southern Indiana in the summertime.  Sometimes the sheets and towels feel damp even when they’re fresh out of the dryer and still warm!  After they’ve been folded, and have been in the linen closet for a while, they feel even damper.  This, as you might expect, tends to attract insects.

Not this summer, though!  Even though the worst of the mugginess hasn’t really begun yet, I’m ready.

This afternoon, I put a Repell-em trash bag against the back wall of all three shelves in my linen closet.  Not only will it make my sheets and towels smell wonderful, it will keep those disgusting summer bugs that feed on humidity-soaked linens out of my closet!

How good does a Repell-em trash bag smell?  If I tell you that I also put one in my lingerie drawer, would that answer your question?
