I didn't even realize that bed bugs actually existed until I read this article. I'm going to do some serious cleaning tonight or else I won't be able to sleep!

Here’s some more info on DE: Fresh water kind is saf(er) and don’t ever use the pool grade type to treat for bugs. (That's why it's called pool grade).
Many on-line pest control sites sell it: it works but it needs to be used with Pest control operator’s knowledge and consent. (It might mess up the poisons they lay down. Some won’t treat you if you use DE. Goggles and a dust mask are musts when applying it and it is best to put into corners: Don’t inhale the freshwater kind, even though it is not what you'd call deadly ... it can, over time if inhaled too much cause "dusty lung syndrome" The Pool grade type--that is quite possible carcinogenic or as bad to inhale even some. Definitely check out all Google sites where you find it BEFORE you buy it.
Having kids and pets that may come into contact is some cause for concern inhalation wise and body contact wise—as are adults—but perhaps moreso.

Have you ever tried diatomaceous earth and it's inorganic. It's a very fine dust and when the insects go though it they wear holes it the exoskeleton and the insect dies if dehydration. You have to be careful that you don't breath any but because it's inorganic you won't die.

Try it; it works on ants, roaches and dozens of insects.
