All about the Repell-em garbage bags and tablecloths

I set these two full trash bags out on my deck last Friday morning, and took a picture. The white bag is a Glad bag, and the red bag is, of course, an EcoSmart Repellem trash bag. Both are full of the same kind of garbage: a combination of kitchen and bathroom garbage, the very best kind - if you’re a raccoon or a possum, or even a wandering neighbor dog.  VERY smelly.

This picture was taken Sunday afternoon.  Please notice that the red EcoSmart Repellem trash bag is still in almost the exact same position as it was when first place here last Friday.  It’s almost as though it hasn’t been so much as touched by any hungry animals. . . as though the animals, hungry as they most certainly were, never even noticed the Repellem bag. . . . as though the animals didn’t even realize the Repellem bag was there!  The animals came, oh yes indeed, you can see where they knocked over a little planter in their rush to get to the yummy garbage.

Where’s the white Glad bag, which, by the way, was the exact same price as the Repellem bag?  Oh, it’s still there, but we can’t see it because the animals tore into it with such enthusiasm that they knocked it off the deck and scattered its contents in the yard, up against my house.  The animals were so eager to dig into the Glad bag that they tore up the mulched area between my deck and my house, in fact.

But the EcoSmart Repellem garbage bag?  Absolutely untouched.  Pristine.  Not even a paw-print on it.

The thing is, you see, Repellem trash bags are made with a combination of 100% natural, biodegradable ingredients that animals simply can not smell, no matter how good their noses might be.  Repellem bags are thick and strong and animals can’t see or smell them.  What else could anyone ask for in a trash bag?  The Glad bags were strong, but their contents could be detected by the animals from far away, and no trash bag plastic can withstand a determined, hungry animal.  The Repellem bag survived because not only is it strong and thick, the animals simply did not even realize it was THERE!

I’ll be doing little experiments like this all spring and summer.  My neighbors wonder why I take pictures of my garbage while they are filming their children, but oh well!  Perhaps I’ll find fame as the eccentric lady who takes pictures of her trash!
