All about the Repell-em garbage bags and tablecloths

A couple of years ago my wife and I went through this whole bicycling phase. I’m not sure exactly how it came about but something from our child came screaming to the top and the next thing I know we became bike owners again for the first time in fifteen years. They were and are very nice bikes it’s easy to keep something in good shape when you only drag it out of storage every four months.

We stuck with it there for awhile. Instead of driving around and paying bills, one afternoon I hopped on the 10-speed and pedaled my way through town clearing up the utility, phone, and cable bills….only to discover that I live on a slow and steady incline that while on four wheels seems to not exist, on two takes on the appearance of Mt. St. Helens. So it kinda shocked me that so many people in and around Paris have decided to exchange their steering wheels for handle-bars. The “free bike” program has put over 10,000 bikes located at 750 stops all across the city of Paris in hopes people will twitch to the alternative method of transportation. Has is worked? The 616,000 Parisians that signed up for the eco-friendly program seem to thinks so. Plus it’s not just the youth of the city that are taking over the streets two wheels at a time, business men/women make up a huge portion of the bike craze spreading across the city.

Basically the way it works is you pick up a bike at one of the stations and take off. Once your done with it you drop it off at the nearest station to you and if by chance you’ve had the bike for longer than 30 minutes you pay a small fee. The idea is catching on so fast, Paris will soon be purchasing another 10,000 bikes and doubling the number of stations. With close to 1,200 people signing up everyday, I myself have decided it’s time to give two wheeling another shot.
