All about the Repell-em garbage bags and tablecloths

I am such huge music fan and though I do love the concert scene, the ones I really look forward to are the multi-act events that bring everyone together for a common cause. Farm Aid, Live Aid, and Bonnarro are just a few of charitable concerts from the past few years. Now on July 7th Microsoft presents “LIVE EARTH“!! The concerts aims to bring over 2 billion people together in hopes of raising awareness and money towards the fight against global warming. Featuring 150 performers on 7 continents for a full 24 hours, the sponsors behind the event are looking not only to inspire you the average everyday Joe, but hope to turn the heads of government officials all over the world.

The funds collected will then be used to setup a program to fight the climate crisis through The Alliance For The Climate Protection which just happens to be chaired by former vice-president Al Gore. Just who is scheduled to perform? Try everybody!!! Madonna, The Blackeye Peas, John Mayer, Keith Urban, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dave Matthews Band, The Beastie Boys, Smashing Pumpkins, Fall Out Boy, Crowded House, Duran Duran, The Pussycat Dolls, Kanye West, The Foo Fighters, Genesis, Linkin Park, Ludacris, and American Idol Winner Kelly Clarkson….have I officially named every relevant act from today’s music scene yet besides U2? Come on you knows Bono and guys are going to show up somewhere!!

Coming at you from Shanghai, Sydney, Johannesburg, Germany, London, Brazil, Japan, and the U.S, the concert can be seen on the NBC owned stations below:

  • The Sundance Channel-airing all 22 hours from 4a.m July 7th to 2a.m July 8th
  • Bravo will feature 18 hours starting at 8a.m (some portions will be taped and include highlights)
  • CNBC is going to start a seven hour stretch beginning at 7p.m. ET
  • Finally Carson Daily will co-host a 3 hour special starting at 7p.m
