All about the Repell-em garbage bags and tablecloths

While spanning the globe for new and interesting things to talk about everyday here on Repellem, I often come across new ideas and/or inventions from people who are attempting to change the way we see our everyday lives. A few weeks ago I came across a vase made up of old teacups stacked on top of one another with a tiny hole drilled down the center, thus creating a vase. Then there was the guy that built a bridge strong enough to hold a person by using only cardboard. Today I thought it would be a cool idea to showcase a couple exhibits that take a hard look the world around us. One focus’s on litter, the other gives a glimpse of what the planet may look like if we don’t turn back from our current path toward Global Warming.

The first comes from London and relates to the recent San Francisco ban on plastic grocery bags. Entitled simply “The Plastic Bag” the exhibit housed in London’s famed Photographers Gallery enticed photographers from around the world to send in pics focusing on the problem of plastic bag litter. What they got was an unbelievable group of photos that come off as both thought provoking and horrifying that offers a glimpse at what commercialism is doing to the planet.

Now I know what you’re thinking. “Hey wait a second. Isn’t this site sponsored by Repellem Garbage Bags/Table Clothes? How could he be doing a post about plastic bag pollution?” Great question and the answer is that not only do recyled plastics go into the making of Repellem products, but they are 100% Bio-degradable. Here I’ll let their creator Terry Feinberg tell this part (It’s his favorite) “REPELL-EM products, once exposed in a typical landfill, will turn into 100% dirt within 1-5 years depending on environmental conditions!  We also use recycled plastics in production, to create the bags and tablecloths you see today. The packaging is also 100% recyclable and/or reusable for other household purposes too. No garbage bags or tablecloths in the world are made like REPELL-EM and none work like them!”
