Repell-em Springs Into Action To Save Your Picnic
Posted in Food Safety, Safety, Traveling, Outdoors, Repell-emToday is the first official day of spring!!!! Time for kite flying, spring training, grass cutting, and backyard grilling. Dandelions are popping up all over the place and the world is coming back to life after a long miserable winter. Spring is my favorite of all the Seasons and chief among the reasons why is because of long afternoon picnics. The kind of picnic you spend all week planning and a half-day packing for. Grab that blanket with the extra cushioning, make way more sandwiches than you need…and not just any ordinary sandwich either, the big triple stacked Dagwoods!!! Throw a Frisbee and football in the trunk along with your favorite book and a pillow.
It doesn’t matter where you go, just get outside and soak up nature!! Sometimes my family and I just go out to the backyard under a perfectly shaped pecan tree made especially for watching the world go by underneath. We always pack tons of food and pretend we are miles away from the rest of civilization.
Of course one slight downside to the beautiful weather and nature in full bloom is the constant issue of bugs and insects. Flowers may smell nice, but they also bring bees. Wasps are always on the prowl looking for a new home and ants can smell a piece of fried chicken a mile away. Eventually it becomes too much and we are forced to go inside earlier than planned.
Not this year though!!! This year I’ve got a plan and a secret weapon. No more getting fed up with ants crawling on my leg while I napping in the shade or flies swarming all over the coleslaw. This Spring I’m drawing a line in the grass and taking a stand against Mother Nature. This year I’ve got Repell-em Garbage bags.
Now my plan is much more creative than just making sure I keep all my food and trash in a Repell-em trash bag what with it’s especially designed repellent and color that sends pests the other way. No I’ve got a brand new solution to help me make my picnics last longer. I’m gonna take two of the large 33 gallon bags and cut them along one side so I have the equivalent of a sheet. Next instead of just laying my blanket down on the grass, I’m gonna put the Repell-em bags down first hence creating a bug free barrier between me and Mother Nature. Goodbye Mr. Wasp and Mrs. Bumblebee. See ya you pesky ant. I’m now going to be enveloped in a impenetrable shield of Repell-em. The bugs won’t even stand a chance.
