My daughter drove all the way down here today to “borrow” four Repell-em trash bags from me.  (I think I know what I’m getting her for her birthday this summer!)

She’s going to be out of town, and wants to set her trash out the night before instead of the morning of.  She can’t do that with regular trash bags because of all the dogs, cats, raccoons, and possums in her apartment complex.

That’s right; you heard me.  In southern Indiana, there are raccoons and possums  even in the city.  They’re everywhere. There is no escape from them.  And if you don’t play your cards right, they will tear into your garbage and spread it everywhere, causing you great hardship and even harsh fines if you don’t get it cleaned up absolutely right away.

My daughter doesn’t want to save her garbage for a week, and I don’t blame her - I raised her to not like to dwell in the midst of garbage - hence her 30-mile drive to get the Repell-em bags.

Where she’s going, there is a big Cabela’s,  so she plans to buy herself a package of Repell-em bags there.  I always order mine off the website, but Cabela’s does carry them.

For a bona fide computer junkie like me, that’s almost too good to be true.

You know, just like ALL Repell-em products. Their claims are almost too good to be true. But I’ve been using Repell-em products for over a month now and I can tell you, FIRST HAND: Every promise Repell-em makes is absolutely true. Repell-em products do everything they claim to do, and they do it well. I ordered several different kinds of products and there’s not a dud in the box.

This is a red Repell-em tablecloth. If I were you, I’d go here and buy some right now, before the warm weather arrives and stays, because if you sit outdoors at all, or eat outdoors at all, you’ll want a tablecloth that keeps all the insects away, won’t you?

I’ve used enough Repell-em products by now, personally, that I feel absolutely confident in any claim they make.

This tablecloth is 100% repellent to all insects and icky animals who like to lick our food, yet you can safely eat any food that falls on the tablecloth. It’s made of peppermint, and citronella, and rosemary, and clove, and geranium, and lemons, and apples, and mineral oil. No wonder Repell-em products smell so good to humans!

I have three cats, and they love to climb on the furniture and play with dangling cords and anything that looks as though it might be tasty. Lately, the cats have been all over our computer equipment, and this just can’t be allowed.

How do you tell a cat “no” without whacking her over the nose with a rolled-up newspaper? We’re not a whacking household, but coming home from work every day to find cords unplugged and gnawed, and everything batted off the tops of all the surfaces was getting really old really fast. Computers are fragile and computers are expensive, and computers are just simply not a proper place for self-respecting cats to hang out.

I got home from the college really late tonight: far too late to begin my second outdoor experiment with Repell-em bags, but when I walked into the computer room and saw one of the cats happily pulling cords out of their sockets with a hungry look on her face, I decided to try something else.

Raccoons are searching for your garbage. They can smell it from across the miles, and they’ll find it and they’ll scatter it.

They might be adorably cute, but the truth is, raccoons are the #1 carriers of rabies, and even if they don’t bite YOU, they could easily infect your dog or cat.

Remember, too, that raccoons are nocturnal animals; if ever you see a raccoon in the daytime, DON’T GO NEAR IT.

My point right here, however, is that raccoons love to mess with your garbage. The sight of a big white trash bag is like a dinner invitation to a raccoon. The aroma of your festering garbage is like the sweet perfume of a pizza parlor to a raccoon.

Of course, if you use Repell-em trash bags, no raccoon, dog, cat, squirrel, insect, or spider monkey* will come NEAR your trash. The red coloring is outside their field of vision; they can’t smell the contents, and if they come near for any reason, the ingredients in Repell-em bags will live up to their name: the animals will be REPELLED.
