This big day is tomorrow (no not Christmas the other big day). The day where we all plan on sleeping late, but then learn otherwise the second the kids jump in the bed begging to watch the parade. The day where the heat gets cut off cause the stove which has been on for 24 hours straight is enough to keep everyone warm. A day filled with reconnecting with family members you only see a couple times a year. A day where Rolaids are passed around like breath mints after 3 hours of eating everything in site.
The people, the food, the fun all lead up to one thing…tons of trash on the curb the next day (come on you knew I was leading you somewhere). Unfortunately for myself and others in my city the trash man just so happens to run on Thursdays, which is the very same day Thanksgiving takes place this year.
What this means is that much like that aunt who just can’t take the hint that it’s time to leave, all that trash will still be sitting there four days later when the G-man finally gets back around to us on Monday. I dare not even try to imagine the smell, the stench, the flies that will be swarming around my neighbor’s trash as it sits rotting in the sun all day. I mention my neighbors because I won’t be having this problem since I use Repellem animal and pest repelling garbage bags. I managed to wrangle up some of the large size which will be the perfect fit for anything that needs tossing come Thursday night. Oh and that smell of roses wafting through the neighborhood won’t be a sign of spring, it’s simply my Repellem bags working overtime. Don’t think I’ll be feeling guilty about filling up the local landfill cause these babies are biodegradable!!!
