In the summer, we usually keep a large trash can out on the deck.  That’s where we deposit the watermelon rinds, corn husks, tomato peelings, etc, so they don’t mess up the kitchen. The giant trash can used to have a lid but that blew off in the last windstorm and split down the middle, so there’s just a big open trash can out there.
